Description

Melanotan 2 (MT-2) is a synthetic form of human alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (a-MSH). Its origins trace back to the 1980s, when the University of Arizona uncovered that a-MSH induced both sexual arousal and skin darkening in rodents. Initially conceived as a sunless tanning alternative, MT-2 eventually revealed a broad spectrum of effects, including heightened sexual arousal, stimulation of tanning or skin pigmentation, mitigation of compulsive behavior, regulation of addiction, appetite suppression, decrease in glucagon production, and reversal of certain characteristics associated with autism.
