Description
FOXO4-DRI (Retro-Inverso) is a synthetic, modified variant of the FOXO4 protein designed to extend its stability and alter its biological activity. This modification enables it to disrupt the normal interaction between FOXO4 and p53, a regulatory protein involved in the survival of senescent cells. By preventing FOXO4 from binding to p53, FOXO4-DRI allows damaged senescent cells to undergo apoptosis, thereby facilitating their removal. Clearing these senescent cells has been associated in research settings with improved tissue function, reduced inflammation, and better overall organ health. Animal studies suggest that FOXO4-DRI may contribute to cellular rejuvenation and improvements in various markers related to aging. Its activity also appears to intersect with pathways involved in oxidative stress, insulin sensitivity, and cell cycle control, positioning it as a compound of interest in senolytic and regenerative medicine research.
