FOXO4-DRI (Retro-Inverso) is a synthetic, modified variant of the FOXO4 protein designed to extend its stability and alter its biological activity. This modification enables it to disrupt the normal interaction between FOXO4 and p53, a regulatory protein involved in the survival of senescent cells. By preventing FOXO4 from binding to p53, FOXO4-DRI allows damaged senescent cells to undergo apoptosis, thereby facilitating their removal.
